Project Soft Landing
FAQ
Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Is Project Soft Landing therapy?

No. Project Soft Landing is not therapy, medical advice, legal advice, crisis care, or professional treatment. It is a private support tool for reflection, communication, grounding, and small next steps.

Is this site for people in recovery only?

No. It is also for people trying to stay sober, people worried about relapse, and family or friends who are supporting someone through addiction or recovery.

Does this replace a sponsor, therapist, doctor, meeting, or treatment program?

No. It can help you pause, think, write, and choose a next step, but it should not replace real-world support.

What should I do in a crisis?

If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, call local emergency services now. If you are in the U.S. and thinking about suicide or self-harm, call or text 988.

Is this private?

The site is designed to be used without an account. Some pages use AI, which means the words you enter may be sent to an AI service to generate a response. Do not enter information you are not comfortable submitting.

Does Project Soft Landing store what I type?

The current site does not include user accounts or a database. However, AI providers and hosting services may process requests as part of generating responses. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.

Why does the site use AI?

AI helps generate calmer, more specific responses for difficult moments. The goal is not to replace human support, but to help someone get unstuck when they do not know what to say or do.

Can I trust the AI response?

Use it as a starting point, not a final authority. Read everything carefully. Change anything that does not feel true, safe, or appropriate.
